At first glance, this image could be a tibetan prayer wheel or a medieval illuminated manuscript. But it really is a manhole cover for the Duquesne Light Company (DLCO), with a pattern of jagged lighting rays. The golden leaves heighten the effect of electric light. (Pittsburgh, November 2013)
