This image started with the composite and digital manipulation of several close-up photographs of a plastic net. I liked the strong abstract result but thought that it could become more expressive by adding the photograph of a flying crow—like the bird was captured or entrapped inside a barbed wire. An artwork to express a feel of mortality, entrapment, lack of freedom, or the impossibility of escape. (April 2015)
