Seemingly suspended in air, this section of a monumental steel sculpture cuts through a shifting sky like a bold question mark. The photograph is a study in opposites: rigid angular geometry meeting soft, curving clouds; weathered texture set against the softness of light; the monument’s permanence contrasted with the sky’s fleeting impermanence. (Sculpture “Phoenix & Dragon,” 2024, by Jörg Plickat, Germany. Captured in Brussels, Belgium, June 2024)
