Negative sentiments about the impact of immigration on the national labor force are not changing over the years. Case in point, this 1983 graffiti illustrating the abstract portrait of an immigrant and the writing “For Full Employment Stop Emigration.” Three passersby reacted by writing “Its Immigration,” “Death to racists like yourself,” and “Written by Jersey City asshole.” (Captured on 35mm Tri-X film, Jersey City, NY, 1983.)
