Close-up on the statue of a young nude woman, seated on the ground of a courtyard, and folded on herself as if deep in thought. French sculptor Aristide Maillol (1861–1944) explored several design variations between 1900 and 1905. The final design, titled “La Méditerranée” (The Mediterranean), is represented in this bronze cast that was photographed at the Middelheim Museum, Antwerp, in August 2018. The courtyard background was added digitally. Rendered with duotone colors and a texture blend for an antique feel similar to vintage photographs. (Duotone with texture blend. August 2019)
