I love this photograph for two main reasons. First, the comical drawings and the two clown entertainers beautifully express how fun it is to be at a town carnival and medieval festival. Second, several rhythmic elements engage us in the picture: the five hands create two angle lines that cross at the man’s elbow; the parallel postures between the man and woman; and the symmetry between their right hands.
