At the end of a fight for life between two buck deer, the victor stands above the lifeless body of its rival to express victory with a powerful roar. This bronze statue is the copy of a plaster original—“Après le combat, cerfs” (After the fight, deer), 1893—by French sculptor Charles du Passage (1843–1926). I rendered the photograph to simulate an antique feel similar to vintage photographs. (Tervuren Park, Belgium, October 2021. Photo composite with duotone colors and texture blending, May 2022)
