A very impressive steel structure, the Poughkeepsie railroad bridge operated from 1889 to 1974 and was then transformed into a pedestrian park that opened in 2009. Walkway Over The Hudson State Historic Park (part of the Hudson Valley Rail Trail) is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. This photograph was taken on the Poughkeepsie side when the bridge starts its climb over houses and tree. (Poughkeepsie, NY, November 2011)
