When I walked in front of this red building, I noticed right away the play between the fire escape’s diagonals and the Hearst Tower’s diagonal grid pattern. And the contrast between the red and blue was so powerful as well. I just had to research the best angle and composition in this narrow street to express all of this.(309 W 55th Street, New York City, March 2012)
