This photograph was taken at the exit of an emergency stair shaft from an underground parking where stairs are surrounded by steel mesh balustrades. The crossing diagonals combine with the mesh patterns, light, and deep shadows to create a powerful geometric abstraction. (Brussels, August 2018)
