Walking along the Pittsburgh’s North Shore Trail, I noticed a row of yellow kayaks stored vertically just below one of the many yellow bridges crossing the Allegheny river. I had to compose a photograph: to show the strong interplay between the light reflections, shadows, and vertical lines; to capture the almost monochromatic color of the scene; and to express how the kayaks seem almost fragile when standing under these massive steal beams.
