One Way To Seaside Gloom

How to make the beach of a seaside resort unattractive? Place rows of beach huts that hide the sea along paved traffic lanes for pedestrians and cars. Circa 1980, this was the approach taken by many towns on the Belgian seacoast. Such a beach then becomes empty and turns very gloomy under the darkness of heavy rain clouds. (Captured on 35mm Tri-X film, 1980.)
